Your body changed after having a baby, but that doesn’t mean you have to feel this way long term.

After having a baby, your body goes through significant changes, and I often see patients who feel like they were expected to recover without much guidance. While healing does happen, many are left dealing with symptoms that don’t fully resolve on their own.

Pregnancy and delivery place a large amount of stress on the pelvic floor muscles. These muscles can become stretched, weakened, or imbalanced, which may lead to symptoms like leaking, pressure, or a feeling that your body just doesn’t feel the same. Even with a C-section, the pelvic floor is still affected due to the changes your body goes through during pregnancy. This is something that’s often overlooked, leaving many people unsure of what their recovery should actually look like.

I always remind my patients that just because something is common after childbirth doesn’t mean it’s something you have to live with. Your body deserves proper care and attention during this time.

Pelvic floor therapy focuses on helping your body recover in a more complete way. We work on rebuilding strength, improving coordination, and supporting your body as it adjusts post-pregnancy. This process is not about rushing recovery, but about restoring function so you can feel strong and supported again. If you’re navigating postpartum changes and not sure what’s normal, a pelvic floor screening can give you clarity and direction on how to support your recovery.

You don’t have to navigate postpartum recovery alone!
